The Relationship Engine

Turn introductions into relationships.

You already spend time and money bringing the right people together. Kindred helps turn that opportunity into relationships, then shows you what continued after we stepped away.

For events, student cohorts and organisational programmes where who people come to know is part of the value.

Form the right CirclesHelp relationships startKnow what lasted

Illustrative population · ExampleNo Kindred yet

120 people. Most are strangers.

The value gap

You already paid to bring them together. What happens between them is still largely left to chance.

An event can fill a room. A university can assemble a cohort. An employer can create a programme. None of those things tells you whether the people who should know one another actually form relationships that continue.

With Kindred

  1. Population
  2. Circles
  3. Guided formation
  4. Handoff
  5. Measure what continued

Kindred is the missing relationship-formation layer between assembling people and hoping they connect.

Applications

Where the Relationship Engine earns its place.

Events

Networking is part of what attendees came for. Why leave it to chance?

Start selected attendee relationships before the doors open. Use the event as the real-world handoff. Then measure whether contact continues afterwards.

  1. Before event
  2. Arrive knowing people
  3. Event handoff
  4. 7/30/90 follow-up

You get

Evidence about whether the relationship opportunity continued beyond the event.

“Did the networking opportunity become continuing relationships?”

Campus

You invest in the cohort before a single relationship exists.

Form small Circles around arrival, support the earliest interactions, then reduce guidance as campus life takes over.

  1. Before/around arrival
  2. Early Circle
  3. Campus handoff
  4. 7/30/90 follow-up

You get

A privacy-protected view of whether new connections continued after handoff.

“Did early introductions continue after university life took over?”

Work and programmes

The programme depends on people knowing people they did not know before.

For graduate cohorts, leadership programmes, cross-functional initiatives and communities of practice, Kindred makes relationship formation an intentional part of the programme.

  1. Programme starts
  2. Circles form
  3. Participant-led contact
  4. Handoff
  5. Follow-up

You get

Evidence about whether participants continued to contact, meet or help one another.

“Did the relationships the programme depended on continue without prompting?”

You are not buying another community platform.

You are buying a deliberate relationship-formation layer for a population you already have, plus evidence about what happened after it stepped away.

How it works

One engine. Nine stages. From introduction to independence.

Understand

Who are these people, and what should change for them?

Takes the context, objective and each person's profile: intent, interests, availability. Consent is captured separately for taking part, research and follow-ups.

  • Objective set for this population
  • Engine versions pinned to the cohort

Illustrative Circle with generic initials. The versioned rules and thresholds shown are the real rules the system runs today; they are hypotheses being tested, not proven findings.

Why it is different

Matching decides who should meet. The Relationship Engine is built for everything after.

How we define success

Success is when Kindred is no longer needed.

  • Handoff needs evidence, not a date.

Readiness must hold on observed behaviour, followed by an observation period.

  • An open safety case always blocks handoff.

Reports and leave requests are resolved by a person first.

  • Organisations see protected aggregates.

Pair level answers stay private; small groups stay hidden.

Measurement

Most platforms measure activity. Kindred measures what happened after the activity stopped.

We combine observed relationship signals with participant follow-up at 7, 30 and 90 days to give organisations a privacy-protected view of whether contact continued after handoff.

  • I'd recognise them
  • I'd feel comfortable contacting them
  • We've talked outside Kindred
  • We've met
  • They helped me
  • I expect we'll stay in touch
  • Skipped answers stay unanswered, never counted as no.
  • Small groups stay hidden in organisation reports.
  • Every engine decision is versioned and logged.
  • Reported and observed evidence of contact, not validated causal outcomes or a score of friendship.

Our research approach

Start with one population

Test the Relationship Engine on something you are already bringing people together for.

No rip-and-replace. No new community to maintain. One defined population, one measurable relationship journey.

We’re currently working with a small number of early partners.

  1. 1Choose an upcoming event, intake or cohort
  2. 2Invite an opted-in participant group
  3. 3Kindred forms and guides small Circles
  4. 4The engine hands off when criteria are met
  5. 5You receive 7/30/90-day aggregate outcome reporting
